I made a pot roast in the crock pot today to enjoy for 2 meals this week. One being the traditional way with carrots and mashed potatoes and the other as bbq beef sandwiches. However, upon arriving home from seeing The Help, I noticed something under the roast. Oh yes, I cooked it with the plastic absorbent pad underneath it. I swear I checked it before I put it in the crock pot, but apparently not. I've been checking Google and people say not to eat it, but then I found other sites on food safety that say it's safe if the plastic did not melt or come apart. Mine didn't, but since I'm a freak about food I don't know if I should eat it or not. And I just made a post about pot roast.
The Help was amazing by the way. If you haven't read the book....read it! Then go see the movie. Such a moving story and a glimpse into the history of the U.S.!
Would you eat the pot roast?
Have you seen The Help or read the book?
