First pumpkin taste of the season (and other fall tidbits)

I had pumpkin oatmeal and coffee with a dash of cinnamon for breakfast today. I love welcoming pumpkin back into my life! And yes, my oatmeal is bright orange because I added a lot of pumpkin. But in my world one can never have too much! And it's healthy so there's that too. Now that I have an open can of pumpkin in my fridge I need to decide what I want to make with the rest of it (besides more pumpkin oatmeal, of course).

I finally made my way to Whole Foods yesterday and just had to stop at Bath & Body Works next door to smell all of their wonderful fall scents. It took me forever to decide, but I finally settled on the Warm Apple Cider hand soap. I wash my hands quite frequently so I love that I will be smelling fall all day long.

NFL football season officially kicks off tonight. I am super excited, especially since I have two fantasy players going tonight (Eli Manning and Dan Bailey, Dallas' kicker). I hope my team does better than it did last year!

Have you started cooking with pumpkin yet? Any suggestions for what I should make?
Do you use fall-scented hand soaps?
Will you be watching football tonight?

  1. I went to B&BW yesterday and got a couple of fall scented candles - Autumn Day (my fave!), Apple Cider, and a Balsam Fir one that I'll probably save until closer to Christmas. We have an artificial tree so I'll need the canadle to help me pretend it's a real pine tree :) The only thing I use pumpkin in is cookies - though maybe this year I should try to make a pumpkin pie!

    1. Autumn Day smelled really good! I was going to get a Wallflower one, but I wanted to find our insert first to make sure we still had it. I LOVE the smell of fir! We have a Woodwick candle we burn at Christmastime that smells like it.

Definitely try a pumpkin pie! It's one of my favorites and super easy to make. :)

  2. I just saw my first pumpkin post of the season about 5 minutes ago, so it's definitely fall! It feels too warm right now for pumpkin, but I'll be pulling it out of the cupboard before long.

  3. I love pumpkin!! I haven't cooked with it yet, but I love the way it smells! Especially when I am baking. ;) I can't wait until it gets cooler so that I can dig out all of my Fall/pumpkin stuff!

    1. I agree! Even though I've used some pumpkin already I have yet to put out my fall decorations since it has still been so hot here. Hoping for a cool-down soon!
